Musical Sight Words Game
A great indoor game! Simple play rule--when the music stops, each child has to read aloud the word they're standing on. If they can't, they have to sit down (and another child takes their place if there are more students waiting for their turn.)
You can start off simple using just the alphabet (upper and lower case), first naming the letter, then making the sound of the letter.

Read to Me Sight Words Find
These are easy to make. Create a plain template that you can use over and over for each set of words you're studying. Have students use a different color crayon for each word. Write the number of how many found in the squares.

Another Letter Sounds Song
(Tune: "When the Saints Go Marching In")
Oh, when we sing
The sound of B
Oh, when we sing the sound of B
We wanna /b/ /b/ to that letter
When we sing the sound of B
Oh, when we sing
The sound of C
Oh, when we sing the sound of C
We wanna /k/ /k/ to that letter*
When we sing the sound of C
Oh, when we sing
The sound of D
Oh, when we sing the sound of D
We wanna /d/ /d/ to that letter
When we sing the sound of D
Oh, when we sing
The sound of F
Oh, when we sing the sound of F
We wanna /f/ /f/ to that letter
When we sing the sound of F
Oh, when we sing
The sound of G
Oh, when we sing the sound of G
We wanna /guh/ /guh/ to that letter*
When we sing the sound of G
* Continue through the rest of the alphabet.
Be sure to use the hard sounds for each letter.
If you want to include the vowels and begin with the letter A, use the short vowel sounds.
Most of all, clap, pat your knees, or do whatever to move with it!
