Pencil Grips Are Your Friend

I used to write each child's name on their pencils with a Sharpie. Until I found pencil grips. Although you can't see them, this package has several colors. I gave each student at a table a different color. Not only could they easily discern their own pencil (and avoid a squabble), but -of course- the grips helped them to keep their pencils from sliding between their fingers.

Thunder Clouds!

My neighbor teacher had the kids make these adorable rain clouds. One hand holds a  raindrop, the other hand holds a lightning bolt, and the two feet are smaller clouds.
