I'm always amazed at how children perceive words they're not familiar with. Their pronunciations are often funny and touching, and that's one of the reasons why I sometimes post those "words" as part of my Kindergarten Dictionary.
Along those same thoughts, I want to share what happened the other day, if only to make you smile and maybe give you a chuckle.
We were studying the letter F, and I gave them a coloring sheet of a farmer as part of their morning prep. Before too long, the whole class was singing.
"The farmer in the dell,
The farmer in the dell,
Hi Ho, the Cheerios,
The farmer in the dell."
